Connecting to Peppol - for example, to e-invoice - can be done in several ways. The easiest way is by connecting to your existing ERP or accounting package. Unfortunately, not all packages are connected to Peppol yet. In addition, Peppol's functionalities and connection and usage costs may vary depending on the ERP or accounting package you use. By following the steps below, you will choose the most efficient route to connect your organisation to Peppol.
Step 1: establish whether your accounting software supports Peppol
Below is an overview of all software suppliers known to us that offer Peppol. In the table on this page, you can see how you can use Peppol with each ERP and accounting package.
Is your ERP or accounting package not listed on this page? If so, ask the software supplier of your package whether Peppol is supported and, if not, whether this is being worked on. It is possible that your supplier has not yet indicated to the NPA that your package supports Peppol, while they do. Does your ERP or accounting software not support Peppol? Then answer the questions on this page and determine the best way for you.
Step 2: identify which Peppol functionalities your organisation needs
Not every ERP or accounting package offers the same Peppol functionalities. It is therefore a good idea to determine in advance which functionalities your organisation needs, so that you can connect to Peppol in the right way. In the overview below, you can see per ERP or accounting package in which way you can use Peppol. For example:
- whether you can send and receive invoices, or just one or the other;
- for which parcels Peppol is automatically the chosen shipping method when your trading partner or supplier also uses Peppol - called the 'Peppol First' method;
- with which packages you can invoice directly in the book package, without having to connect to the service provider (with which you have only one contract partner).

Step 3: establish the connection and usage costs of Peppol for the package of your choice
Have you selected a package(s) that meets your requirements? Then take stock of Peppol's connection and usage costs for this/these respective ERP or accounting package(s). For this, it is essential to contact the relevant ERP or accounting package, as the Dutch Peppol Authority (NPa) has no insight into the pricing structure per package.
If your company uses an ERP or accounting system that already offers Peppol support, in some cases you can send and/or receive e-invoices - possibly at no extra cost. Other suppliers offer an all-in rate, while yet other software suppliers charge per invoice sent or received. Finally, there are ERP and accounting packages that offer free shipping, but charge for receiving invoices.
Not sure if invoicing via an ERP or accounting package is the right solution or want to know what other ways there are to e-invoice via Peppol? Then take a look here.
